47. The State of Michigan
e: I always seem to be drawn back here, to the mitten. Most of the time (when I’m not struggling to free myself from perceived childhood naivete) I think this place has everything I could ever want: family, city, nature, water, history, quiet, love. I always feel this is home.
a: Having a home away from home is a romantic idea - but one that applies to any Michigander living outside of the state. Nothing compares to the feeling of returning to the Mitten after months away and nothing can hurt as much as leaving after only a few days.
